About us
About the Club
Active Kids PE is a physical education class for young children taught in English.
The main coach, Taro Itsumi, is a TV personality and presenter, but he also studied as a coach at a long-established children's gymnastics school, and has gained experience teaching children's gymnastics in English with an Olympic gymnastics medalist, as well as collaborating with a former head coach of the Olympic fencing team to teach children's physical education.
Currently, coach at Tokyo American Club and other children's gymnastics classes in Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefecture.

Have fun learning with our unique method We use an original curriculum called the "ActiveKids Method" that is based on Montessori educational theory and combines it with the time-honored TFS method.
Lessons using English and music are also ideal for children who are new to English or other extracurricular activities.

Active Kids PE aims to be a supporter that helps children acquire skills naturally and independently through fun, and to develop self-confidence and perseverance.

Connections to elementary school and beyond
By 'watching' what the coach does and says, 'listening,' and 'trying' repeatedly, children learn to move their bodies according to the image they envision. Also a sense of rhythm is very important in physical activities, so children learn the joy of moving their bodies to the rhythm of music or drum beats.
Adding challenges to the fun,
it increases the satisfaction of "I did it!" and leads to self-confidence. Children also improve the ability to understand instructions, act accurately, and perseverance.
Your child will learn the movements necessary for the elementary school curriculum and beyond, such as the bar exercises, vaulting box, and jump rope, in a careful, step-by-step manner that is in line with their development.

Experience

Worked at Jiyugaoka TFS, which has over 50 years of experience in teaching young children, and learned early childhood gymnastics education under the school's main coach.

Currently teaching in English at kindergartens in Tokyo, Kanagawa and at the Tokyo American Club.

Has experience teaching gymnastics to young children together with Olympic gymnastics medalist Mr.Kazuhito Tanaka.

Has been involved in a wide range of activities, including working on a children's gymnastics project in collaboration with Mr.Koji Emura, former head coach of the Japanese Olympic fencing team.

Participated as head physical coach at the International Open Fencing Competition.
